Ukulele Performance at HK Disneyland
Thursday 6th June 2019
A magical day for ukulele at Hong Kong Disneyland.
After months of preparation, getting members to participate, buying air tickets, booking accommodations, arranging transportation and many hours of rehearsals,
everything turned out beautifully. All our efforts were worth all the preparations. Everyone had a good time especially the young participants.
Although the weather was humid and hot..sunny day is of course much better than a raining one. We were worried of the raining weather prior our Disney Performing Arts. Disney had indicated that the performance would be cancelled if the weather is bad.
A total of 25 kids and 20 adults made it a memorable, historical event as it was the first time ukulele was featured at Hong Kong Disneyland. Six repertoires were being played to the audience in front of the Main Train Station. We are thankful to all the supportive parents, executive committee, Disney Performing Arts team, Disney Management and Staff for making this a successful event. Also we would like to thanks Mr GJ Lee from Taiwan and Ms Emily Ng and friends from Hong Kong at their own expenses to come to Disneyland to support the Kid's performance. Worthy to mention that Ms Emily Ng also lend us the cajon so we need not carry all the way from Malaysia to Hong Kong. Ms Emily also assisted us to transport back all the ukuleles back to hotel upon the completion of our performances.
Thank you.
P.s. Kudos to the Kids!

Event and Activities 2019
Time flies, and now we are into March of 2019.
PPMUM is in its 6th year of inception this year.
In term of age, we are still a very young Association, but we had carried out numerous projects and took part in many events over these years. It is no difference this year, 2019.
Projects and Events we will undertake this year are as follows:-
1) 11th Taiwan Ukulele Festival on 14 April 2019
2) 5th June to 8th June 2019 HK Disneyland Performance (Age under 18 for Disney Graduation and Performance Program)
3) PPMUM 6th Anniversary Celebration (Date not fixed yet, sometime in July)
4) Malaysia Ukulele Festival (31 August 2019 & 1st September 2019- planning stage with pre MUF activities such as 28 April 2019 & 16 June 2019 at ATRIA)
The above events required a lot of planning and coordination between many parties involved.
For the Taiwan Ukulele Festival, 13 participants has confirmed going with members like Jessie Ho, Genie Tan, Cheryl & Muralee and Kelly. The rest of the are non-members, all paying for their own flight ticket to Taiwan.
As for the HK Disneyland program, we are still recruiting children (priority to PPMUM Members) under the age of 18 to take part. We hope the HK Disneyland Youth Program will be a successful one.

Throw Back 2018
Happy New Year!
It's a new year, 2019, a new beginning.
We had celebrated our achievement in 2018, and we look forward to this new year.
2018 has been a milestone for us in PPMUM. Two major events were carried out.
These are the Malaysia first Ukulele Festival and Miyazaki Music Exchange Concert.
Looking back, we are thankful to all who had supported and helped us in these two projects.
Firstly, we like to share with you the first Malaysia Ukulele Festival.
This event was mooted by our PPMUM founder, Ms Kelly Teh and Mr David Khoo from Music2U.
The idea was to bring ukulele players and enthusiast together for the first time in a venue in Malaysia.
With the help of OSK, the venue sponsor, the Festival was held at Atira Shopping Gallery on 1st September 2018.
Participants were charged a minimum fees to help fund this event. We also raised funds by the issuance of the Program Booklet, for which we would like to give a
big shout-out of THANK YOU to all advertisers.
We would like to Thanks our guests performers too.
They are Professor ChangSoo Kim & his Korea Bambell Ukestra, Cindy CAR Band, G.J. Lee (Both from Taiwan), Hiroshi Okada (Japan),
Kawayan 7 (Philippines), Apple Show (Thailand) and her Hula dancers, Yoko Maeda (Japan), KL Hula Hibiscus, and Delighting Dreams Band (KL).
Not forgetting the judges of the Ukulele Competition; T.C. Chew (Penang), William Kok and Stephen Cheong (KL), Dulce B. Punzalan (Philippines)
and Danny Lam (Johor). The Art Drawing judges; Professor Anara Amirov and Samantha Leong.
Yu Hua Dance Club for the Opening ceremony and togerther with our very own members of PPMUM, Blue Tones Ukulele Group (Johor) and Joyous Ukulele (Perak).
And Thank you to all contestants from all over Malaysia.
All gave their best and wonderful performances, and left with praises of a successful event.
For the foreign performers, it was, in their own perspective, an unique and refreshing Festival with traditional dances for the
opening ceremony.
